Back to class! Both kinds of class– grad school and middle school. Every year I forget how exhausting and exhilarating teaching middle school can be. Friday night I slept 11 hours. Two weeks into school and I’ve learned about half their names and I am redoing the seating chart with the new room layout to allow more walking space. My school/ district is focusing more on social emotional learning, so this year I have started doing highs and lows on Fridays. Now I’ll have room for us to sit on the floor to do it. The first one was very enlightening and helped me get to know the kids better. I look forward to learning more about SEL.
This semester I’m taking Learning Resource Organization— cataloging. I was told by two different people that this is the most difficult class, so that is the only class I’m taking this semester.
Right now I’m drowning in new terms. I’m trying to absorb them as fast as possible. I can see that there is a ton of information to learn. I know it is important. I have no idea how I am going to remember all of the rules and how to do this. Somehow I will though. I’m stubborn like that.
I’m a visual learner so I searched up this image to help me. I found it here.
This video by OCLC is actually quite helpful!
